Easter Eggs

Posted by Michelle on April 29, 2011 in Projects, Than and Michelle |

I love decorating Easter eggs!  Although I don’t have any photos of the kids helping, we really did have fun doing it together as a family.  (And yes, the first egg got dropped into the dye cup and cracked along the bottom and Mommy was irritated, but it got much better after that!)

This year I also experimented with blowing out raw eggs, hopefully ending up with some special eggs we can save from year to year.  The blowing out process had its fair share of casualties, but Than helped me figure it out and I’m pretty reliable now.  It’s a good thing eggs aren’t too expensive!

There are so many ideas for how to decorate eggs, and of course I wanted to try most of them, but we settled for just a few…  (The links go to the instructions I followed for each one, and their photos are lots prettier than mine!!)

Used adhesive vinyl cutouts for this one… (Hard to get the vinyl to stick on the rounded surface, hence the “leaks” which Than says just add to the artistry)

Used rubber bands to create this design… (Than was in charge of the multi-color process.  Nice work!)

Made this one tie-dye (super quick and easy–I’ll do more like this!!)

Only about 47 more ideas to go…!!
