Inspiration

in-spi-ra-tion: 1: a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation 2: the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions 3: the act of influencing or suggesting opinions

What gives me inspiration?  I read lots of things that attempt to influence or suggest opinions (3), and some of those things move my intellect  or emotions (2) but every once in a while something even seems to reach the level of divine influence (1).  I’m not saying I am in the business of communicating sacred revelations to you or anyone else, but I do like to use this blog to share things that inspire me–a good idea, a moving thought, or a slice of how God is influencing my life.

Today’s inspiration:

Another post from the blog I used before: http://www.aholyexperience.com/2009/11/how-do-christians-seek-beauty.html

Again, I encourage you to read her post to get the full idea, and to enjoy her thoughtful photographs as well!  In case you don’t, here are some quotes I liked…

…seeing beauty in the obvious and apparent isn’t perhaps really seeking at allThe Real Words read: “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?” and my thoughts line up like an echo: “For if you find beauty in only the obvious, what reward do you have? Do
not even the consumers and collectors do the same
?”

Like Christ, His followers thrill in repurposing the ugly as beautiful, in believing in grace possibilities for the disdained. Christ-followers radically use mud as glasses to see Glory.

Be inspired.
